Abstract: | Children who attend local churches are part of the Church of today, not tomorrow. The 2016 National Church Life Survey gave children aged 8 to 14 years an opportunity to share their views and experiences. Some Baptist churches across Australia enabled their children to participate. In this report we present results from around 2,300 Baptist children. A second companion report presents the views of different generations for those attenders aged 15 and over (Powell, 2019). About Baptist children aged 8 to 14 years: This report starts with a demographic profile of the Baptist child respondents: their age, gender and country of birth. Understanding which types of school these young survey participants attend also provides some context for interpreting their responses. We also present results on a range of indicators of wellbeing in various areas of life. |
